Just a Bit of Stitching from Life In Pieces

The weekend was cold and windy, good stitching weather. Or it would have been except for the respiratory or sinus infection that was trying to take hold this weekend. I didn't do much on Saturday, but finally felt well enough to head to the sewing room late Sunday afternoon. Bonnie Hunter posted the second clue for Chilhowie, but I'm still stitching on clue 1.  Not much to show for that project yet, just lots of strip sets.

The December clue for the Melodic Mystery (Meadow Mist Designs) was out on Thursday. There I did make some visible progress ...

Closer to a Finish from Life In Pieces

Winter isn't officially here till just before Christmas, but Mother Nature must have decided to get an early start with the winter weather. There is the possibility of freezing rain tonight into tomorrow.  Usually we don't see that kind of weather till after the first of the year.

On the sewing room front, I finally got the vacuum cleaner upstairs to the sewing room. It definitely needed a good going over.  Actually my sewing room needs a good cleaning and decluttering just like the rest of the house.  Rather than going down that rabbit hole, I finally bit ...

Making Progress from Life In Pieces

We've mostly survived time change, though we forgot to reset the alarm clock in the bedroom before we went to bed and My Guy got up a bit earlier then he needed to Sunday morning.  I spent a solid afternoon in the sewing room for the first time in months. My sewing mojo isn't completely back on track, but it's slowly improving.

Maybe part of my motivation to get into the sewing room was to finish the borders on Macaron Mystery.

Happy Halloween with a Bit of Stitching Stuff from Life In Pieces

Happy Halloween!  It's been a while since Grad Girl did the dress up and trick or treat. I miss those activities now. She used to carve a pumpkin with My Guy, but she's too far away this year. She organized a pumpkin carving party with the other graduate students. She did well with her carving.

My Guy will carve his pumpkin this after noon.  We are prepared to hand out candy tonight, we'll enjoy seeing the neighborhood kids all dressed up.

I did spend some quality time in the sewing room on Sunday.  I finished the last ...

A Bit of This and That from Life In Pieces

It was a busy weekend. My Mom celebrates her 80th birthday this week, so we had a party for her on Sunday.  It was especially nice since Grad Girl was able to come home for it. So mom had all her kids and grandkids there. Thankfully she was feeling better after a rough week and we all had a great time.

Since the weekend was spent with family, there wasn't a lot of stitching time this weekend, but there was a bit of progress in the sewing room during the weekdays.  All the pieces needed for Unity are cut ...

March One Monthly Goal from Life In Pieces

The first week of March is just about over, so it's definitely time to decide on a One Monthly Goal.

I just noticed that the OMG button says "motivation in a monthly link up". That's exactly what I need at certain stages of the quilting process. So which project needs that extra "umph" to get to the next stage?

Not Red, White and Blue Stars.

I've turned corner three on stitching down the binding.  A good sit down session tonight will net me a finished quilt. Plenty of motivation with that project.

Grassy Creek needs borders. Borders ...
